Who is Mrs. Lyle?
Welcome to the Second Grade!
I am so excited to have your child in my class this year and look forward to working with you to make their second grade year outstanding! Below is a little bit about me...
I was born in Shiner, Texas and am a very proud fourth generation Texan. My family and I moved to Round Rock in 1982, and I graduated from Round Rock High School in 1994. I attended Austin Community Collage (ACC) part-time until 1998 when I moved to College Station. I attended Blinn College and was accepted to Texas A&M University in 2000. Whoop! I graduated from A&M in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and Southern History. After working for 10 years in the private sector I realized I should have listened to my momma and went back to school to earn my teaching certificate. My first year in the district I worked as a Special Ed. Assistant to a very special fourth grader. This is my ninth year teaching here at Great Oaks Elementary and my tenth in RRISD.
James, my husband of sixteen years, works in Austin as a Custodian of Records and Compliance Coordinator for a prepaid debt card company. We have one daughter, Emma, who is in the seventh grade at Cedar Valley Middle School.
GOE is a very warm and caring school with a strong student and leadership focus. I am blessed to be here and to be your child's teacher.
I will give your child the very best I have in the classroom. I will work hard to teach them to be a responsible leader of their education, celebrate their successes, learn from their struggles, and prepare them for their future.
I am very excited about this year, and am so glad to share it with you and your child!
